The Museum of Gold in Bogota is home to the largest collection of pre-Colombian gold artefacts in the World. It is magnificent, and so I paid it a second visit.
Mompox – a step back in time. The historical centre is home to excellent examples of old Spanish colonial properties. The river is an added bonus!
Journey to The Lost City – it’s name alone conjures up all the mystery that motivates a traveller. It is a tough journey but well worth it.
The Colombian Caribbean coast from Cartagena to the Tyrona National Park hides beautiful beaches and the interesting city of Santa Marta.
The port area to Cartagena de Indias is very modern, but the real delight is in the old quarters of this magnificent, walled city.
Colombia – colourful colonial towns, dense rainforests, important pre-Colombian sites, pristine beaches, fascinating mountain communities, and much more.
The San Blas Islands are an archipelago of beautiful tropical islands, with quality snorkelling, and a reserved and good-natured people.
Boquete – in search of the quetzal. The resplendent quetzal was the sacred bird of the Aztecs and the Maya. It is Central America’s bird of paradise.
The islands of Bocas del Toro are in the Caribbean Sea close to the border between Panama and Costa Rica. They are a relatively undeveloped paradise.
